Barima Akwasi Amankwaah is from Ghana currently working with the Ghana NGO Coalition on the Rights of the Child (GNCRC) as the National Coordinator.

He holds Bachelor of Business Administration (Human Resource Development), Diploma in Social Work, Diploma in Youth Development, Certificate in Criminology- Ireland, Diploma in Counselling and Behaviour Theories, Certificate in HIV/AIDS Management and Care, Diploma in Organisational Leadership and Strategic Skills and currently studying MPHIL/PHD on Education, Gender and Development.   Barima has over ten (10) years of experience working in the area for Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), educating, sensitizing, training, conducting research, assisting ICT managers and ICT users on how to make ICT safe for children.

Since 1998 he has developed and worked as a Social Worker on adolescent reproductive health programmes, educating communities, schools, religious groups (Christians and Moslem groups). He also participated in research in communities on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), assist and Coordinate CSEC programmes in communities through school and other intervention programmes.

As Coordinator of the Ghana NGO Coalition on the Rights of the Child, Barima led the Coalition to make presentations at the United Nations Committee of Experts of the Rights of the Child at the UN level, the Africa Expert Committee on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, as well as contributed to the drafting of the CRC Periodic Report to the UNCRC.
